New Report: State of the Switch 2024

We're excited to share our latest report, State of the Switch 2024, which paints a bright picture for the future of electric vehicles (EVs) in the UK.

The report predicts a significant increase in EV adoption over the next year, and here's why you should be excited:

  • 1.24 million EVs expected on UK roads by 2025! That's a 24% jump from this year, thanks in large part to the government's Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) Mandate we campaigned for and helped win.

  • EV prices are set to drop! The ZEV Mandate is pushing manufacturers to sell more EVs, and that could mean price cuts of up to £10,000 on some popular models this year.

  • EVs are already cheaper to run! Charging an EV at home is 30-36% cheaper per mile than petrol or diesel, and with electricity costs falling while fuel prices rise, the savings are only going to get better.

  • Charging infrastructure is rapidly expanding! We're on track to have 70,000 public chargers by early 2025, putting us ahead of schedule to meet the 2030 target of 300,000 chargers.

Of course, there's still work to do. We need to tackle public misconceptions about EVs and make sure public charging is affordable for everyone. But the overall message is clear: the UK's EV revolution is happening, and we're leading the charge!
