Estonia has seen little growth in the EV market despite personal grants available both for purchasing and leasing a vehicle. Grants for EVs have been controversial in the country as the majority of EVs supported have been premium brands, garnering criticism in the country.
Estonia’s transition is likely to be at least partly driven by second hand imports from Western European countries. There has already been an increase in the number of second hand EVs changing hands in the country and this will need to continue to facilitate the transition.
